Felipao
Felipao is the artistic name of Felipe Garcia-Bañon Sanz-Briz, an artist casually born in Morocco who throughout his life, being the son and grandson of diplomats, has lived in half the world, Arab Emirates, France, Kenya, Nicaragua, Pakistan.... This cosmopolitan life and exposure to different cultures have allowed him to have a multifaceted vision of the world.
He settled in Madrid in 1983. Graduated in economics and business from ICADE, his working life is spent in various multinationals such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Telecinco, Repsol, etc. In 2009 he decides to make a big change in his life, his need to communicate his experiences, his vision and what had been his passion until then, leads him to leave the world of the multinational and devote himself entirely to art.
Throughout these years he has exhibited in Germany, United States, Hong-Kong, Mexico, United Kingdom, among other countries, collectively and individually. He has held public exhibitions ("Podenco Dafne y Lucas" - PArt Ibiza Gallery). His works are in important private collections such as those of Juan Antonio Pérez Simon, Philippe Starck, former President César Gaviria, the Koplowitz, March and Varez families, among others.
His sculpture of the polyhedral menina, has been selected by the City Council of Madrid as an institutional gift, one of them was given to the president of Real Madrid CF the day the project of the new stadium was presented to the mayor's office.
